A living room with a good view and nothing holding it together. One wall of millwork gave the room a centre and a place for the light to come from.

Living room

The room had one blank wall doing nothing and a ceiling with a single fixture in the middle. A slatted panel now anchors the seating, a cove above it takes over the general lighting, and the sofa was replaced with one deep enough to actually be used facing the water. Ceiling lighting on a dimmer changes a waterfront room more than any piece of furniture in it.

Furniture is the one exception, and we say so plainly: when a project includes upholstery or casegoods, they are made with ateliers we have worked with for years in the United States and Europe.
