Privacy policy
What we collect when you write to us, what we do with it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it.

Working draft
The studio wrote this text, not a lawyer. It is pending review by a Florida attorney before it can be treated as final. We publish it as a draft because saying nothing about your data would be worse. If anything here does not match what we actually do, tell us and we correct it.
The short version
- We collect what you type into the project form: name and email, plus phone, location and your description if you give them.
- We use it to answer you and to prepare your project. Nothing else. We do not sell it and we do not send newsletters.
- We only call you or send you a message if you ticked the consent box. You can withdraw it whenever you want and we stop the same day.
- Requests that do not become a project are deleted after 24 months.
- Write to heriberto@hjstudiodesign.com to see, correct or delete everything we hold about you.
What we collect, and when
We do not buy contact lists and we do not follow you around the internet. Everything below reaches us because you did something on purpose.
When you send the project form
Name and email, which are required. Phone or WhatsApp if you fill it in, the role you selected (homeowner, architect, contractor or developer), the type of project, where it is, when you want to start, and whatever you wrote in the message field.
We also record the date, the language you were reading in, and a reference number such as HJ-2608-4KZP, so both sides can find the request months later.
When you call
Your number reaches us through the phone network. We keep it with a note of what we discussed. We do not record calls.
When you write on WhatsApp
We see your number, the name on your profile and the messages you send. WhatsApp belongs to Meta and runs under its own terms, which we do not control. If you would rather not use it, email and phone work just as well.
When you send an email
Whatever you put in it, including attachments, plans and photographs of your space.
Automatically, while you read
Our hosting provider keeps standard server records: the address the request came from, the page, the time and the browser. They exist to keep the site up and to stop abuse. The provider deletes them on a short cycle.
What we use it for
We do not sell your data, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to advertising networks or lead brokers. It has four uses:
- Answering your enquiry and preparing drawings, a proposal and a price.
- Running the project if it goes ahead: survey, shop drawings, fabrication, delivery and installation.
- Keeping the records a contract and a tax return require.
- Seeing which pages get read, counted in aggregate, never by following one person.
Read this one
Permission to call you or send you a message
There is one checkbox on the project form. Ticking it is what allows us to call you or write to you by text or WhatsApp. In Florida that permission is a legal requirement, not a courtesy, and the previous version of this site asked for your number without a word about it.
If you leave it unticked, nothing is lost. We reply by email, and you can call us whenever you like.
When you do tick it, this is what we commit to:
- A person calls, from our own number. No autodialer, no recorded message, no call centre.
- Never before 9.00 and never after 20.00 in your local time.
- Only about your enquiry. We do not call about anything else, and your number never goes to another company.
- No marketing sequence. If you do not reply, we do not chase you five times.
How to withdraw it
Reply STOP to any message, say so on the call, or send one line to heriberto@hjstudiodesign.com. We stop the same business day, and in every case within ten. Withdrawing it does not stop us answering you by email.
How long we keep it
Nothing stays in a drawer forever because nobody thought about it.
- Enquiries that do not become a project: 24 months from your last message, then deleted.
- Anything you ask us to delete: within 30 days of the request, sooner when we can.
- Projects under contract: drawings, measurements and correspondence for as long as the relationship lasts, and after that for the period our contract and our tax obligations require.
- Server records at the hosting provider: a short cycle set by them, measured in weeks.
Who else sees it
A small number of suppliers. We name them by function, because the specific company can change and this list has to stay true:
- The hosting provider that serves this site and receives the form when you send it.
- The email provider that carries our correspondence with you.
- A measurement provider, if we add one. The next section says what happens then.
- Meta, if you choose to write on WhatsApp, under its own terms.
- Our accountant, and a lawyer if it ever came to that, for projects under contract.
- A public authority, when a law or a court order requires it. We would tell you unless we were barred from doing so.
That is the whole list. There is no advertising pixel, no data broker, and nobody who receives your details in exchange for anything.
Cookies and measurement
As this is written, the site sets no cookies of its own. No banner appears because there is nothing to consent to.
The language switch is a link to a different address, not a stored preference. That is why you can copy a Spanish page and send it to someone and it opens in Spanish.
If we add a measurement tool, it will be one that counts pages without building a profile of you. This section will name it and say what it stores before it goes live. If we ever added something that needed your consent, you would be asked first.
Your rights, and how to use them
Some privacy laws only bind companies above a certain size, and it is possible that none of them reach a studio of ours. We apply the following to anyone who asks, whether a law obliges us or not:
- Ask what we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Have it deleted, unless a contract or a tax rule forces us to keep a specific document.
- Withdraw your permission for calls and messages.
- Ask us to stop publishing photographs of your project, if you are a client and we agreed to publish them.
Write to heriberto@hjstudiodesign.com with the words "privacy request" in the subject. We answer within 30 days, and usually within two working days. We may ask one question to confirm you are who you say you are. That protects you, not us.
How it is kept
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and the form posts to our own server rather than to a third party. Access to the requests is limited to the people at the studio who have to answer them.
No system is perfect. If a breach ever reached your data, we would tell you and say exactly what was involved.
If your project is outside the United States
We build in Turks and Caicos, Aruba and Antigua. Your data is stored and processed in the United States, whose privacy rules may differ from those where you live. Sending us the form means you accept that. If it is a problem, tell us first and we will find another way.
Children
This site is for people commissioning building work. We do not direct it at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you believe a child sent us something, write to us and we delete it.
Changes to this policy
The date at the top is the only thing you have to check. When something material changes, that date changes and this page says what moved.
If a change affects how we may contact you, we ask for your permission again. We do not assume the old one carries over.
